Booking advice

Understand the quote. Plan the day with confidence.

The useful price is the cost of the charter you actually want, not an isolated headline rate. This guide explains how to request and compare a Life’s Good quote without assuming that different boat packages include the same things.

Private boat hire is different from buying cruise tickets

A private charter gives your group the vessel for the agreed booking rather than selling each guest a seat on a shared departure. Life’s Good is a 40ft powered catamaran for up to 25 guests, operated with a skipper and crew. The relevant comparison is another suitable private charter with comparable duration and inclusions.

This site does not publish a fixed booking rate. Request a quote for your date and plans from Exclusive Boats. Do not assume a rate seen elsewhere applies to a different date, duration or package. A current written quote establishes the scope and price you can actually use for your decision.

Charter length and the shape of your day

Exclusive Boats advertises a four-hour charter option for Life’s Good. Confirm the period available for your booking and what timing the quote covers. A shorter or longer request may affect both the price and the route that is practical; availability must be checked rather than inferred from a standard package description.

Think about the experience you want within that time. A long lunch and a few scenic views may suit one itinerary, while a route covering more of the harbour uses more time travelling. Do not compare prices without checking duration. Equally, do not choose a longer period solely to add a list of locations if your guests mainly want to relax together onboard.

Guest numbers and realistic per-person budgeting

Maximum capacity is up to 25 guests, but your budget should use the number of people likely to attend. Dividing a total quote by the vessel’s maximum can create a misleadingly low figure for a smaller group. Use a conservative attendance estimate and decide how costs will be shared before collecting money from friends or colleagues.

Ask whether a change in group size affects any part of your quoted package, particularly food or event arrangements. Keep capacity and event suitability separate: the fact that a group fits within the maximum does not answer questions about boarding needs, meal format or the space you want. Explain those details when requesting the quote.

Food, drinks and extras need their own check

BYO food and drinks are available aboard Life’s Good, or catering can be discussed. Ask the quote to state the conditions, any relevant fees and what serving or cooking arrangements are included. With BYO, your own shopping and preparation are still part of the event budget even if they do not appear on the vessel invoice.

For catering, check menu choices, dietary requirements, quantities and the service provided. Ask about any special requests such as decorations, a birthday cake or shore activities before assuming they are included. An onboard BBQ or sound system is a vessel feature, not confirmation that food, equipment connections or every event request has been arranged.

Wharves, payment requirements and booking terms

Confirm pickup and drop-off locations and ask whether wharf-related costs are included in the quote. The location guides on this website describe harbour views and route ideas, not a list of guaranteed pickup points. Shore landings may require separate arrangements, permissions or fees and should be discussed before they become part of your plan.

Review the payment schedule, any bond, cancellation terms and weather policy before paying. Ask which payments are due and how the booking becomes confirmed. Do not assume rain automatically produces a refund or postponement. Keep the agreed terms alongside the quote so the organiser understands both the cost and the conditions attached to it.

Send an enquiry that produces a useful answer

Include your preferred date, alternative dates if possible, approximate guest count, desired duration and occasion. Add your food preference, boarding needs and one or two route priorities. If you have a firm budget, explain whether that budget needs to cover only the charter or also food and other arrangements.

Compare the replies on the same basis: duration, suitable capacity, vessel facilities, wharves, food, extras and terms. Ask about anything that remains unclear before committing. An enquiry alone does not reserve Life’s Good. Once the team has confirmed availability and the booking requirements are completed, you can finalise guest invitations and any remaining purchases.
